There is a place nine miles high
My brother is trapped inside, but he's alive
The note flashed on his TV
"Pack up and come as you are"
The captain put me at ease
"I've taken your kind before, overseas. So come aboard!"
For ten days I walked through open ground
And I came to a mountain up in the clouds
At the gate was a girl and a chill in the wind from the west
And it seemed she could tell this would not be the end of my quest
(Girl at the gate)
"Your journey's not in vain
For those who still remain within the hallowed halls
They can explain it all"
And so I climbed up to the castle in the sky
Where everybody knows the reasons why
Oh, they can analyze, and they are wise
But I would never find my brother there
(People in the castle)
We'll tell you where to go, but it is dark below
Strange things appear
Nothing can hurt you here"
And so I scaled down to a fortress underground
I wish I could explain the things I found
There was firelight and gardens of delight
And a rhythm ringing through my soul
And there was no fear or ropes to learn
And the pathways were clear if you made the turns
And you can disappear right along with your concerns
And the thing you'll never hear is there are things you shouldn't burn
But then one day it came to pass
That I turned away for I had more to ask
So I dove undersea and felt it flow inside me
And I learned down below I should go home
But live differently
So I sailed back from the temple undersea
I hadn't saved my brother but he saved me
